Magic: The Gathering Launches New Companion App

Magic: The Gathering

Matches of Magic: The Gathering can get pretty complicated, with tokens, counters, Commander damage, life total, and plenty more to keep track of. With so many numbers flying around, players need to be a bit of a mathematician, though there are ways to make things easier. A new Magic: The Gathering companion app has arrived giving players the ability to do just that alongside a whole host of other abilities for competitive Magic play.

A recent post has arrived detailing all the new app has to offer, such as giving players the ability to keep track of important resources in a variety of different formats. Players will be able to also keep track of their storm tokens, poison counters, and more. The companion app offers more features for players looking to enter the realm of live tournaments as well. Alongside the ability to track various resources within the game, players will also have access to a range of active local live events that they can sign up for. While potential entry fees into these tournaments will be handled by the retailer themselves, fans will be able to sign up, find their seating number, keep track of their wins and losses, and make their own events for friends to sign up for.

Magic: The Gathering

The app is sure to make Magic: The Gathering and its local tournaments more accessible. It’ll be interesting to see just where the app goes from here. It would be nice to see a library of cards players own or even give them access to a deck builder so they can see what various cards can do and plan their battles out against various types of opponents.
