LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Sets New Release Window (VIDEO)

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

While it’s been a while since we’ve seen anything regarding LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, it now appears the Force has awakened on the awaited new entry. Collecting the entire Star Wars series (well, the Skywalker Saga anyways), the core nine films in Lucasfilm’s storied space opera are getting their due in LEGO brick form, complete with the likes of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, which hadn’t yet received a game adaptation until now.

For the occasion of Gamescom, the new LEGO Star Wars game brought a nice showcase of footage, with the ensuing two-minute trailer taking viewers on a journey through the lightsaber-wielding story of Anakin, Luke, and eventually Rey, though, in the comedic fashion the LEGO series is known for. The footage ends with the reveal of an updated release window, the game now set to release sometime in Spring 2022. Check out the trailer below.

Before being teased for Opening Night Live, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was previously delayed past its Spring 2021 release window and moved to an undetermined date. This new trailer is surely a relief for fans as it not only updates the game’s launch plans, but also premieres the first new footage in nearly a year (almost to the day). The LEGO Skywalker Saga itself is set to present the series in a significantly updated manner, featuring a modern presentation, fleshed-out gameplay, full voice acting, and as many as 300 playable characters.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is scheduled to release for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in Spring 2022.
