Halo Infinite Xbox Series X Console And Elite Controller Revealed (VIDEO)

Halo Infinite Xbox

Following the big release date news for Halo Infinite, Gamescom 2021 held yet another big surprise for fans of the cosmic Master Chief saga. Xbox is officially rolling out limited edition hardware for the coming next-gen release, announcing two limited edition items: a specially-themed Halo Infinite Xbox Series X and an Elite wireless controller bearing the metallic green of John-117 himself.

As detailed on an Xbox Wire post, the 20th anniversary of the Halo franchise is set to produce a glorious new version of the Xbox Series X console. Marking the first custom variant of the boxy next-gen hardware, the limited-edition bundle features a “dark metallic paneling accented by iridium gold.” Scattered across the console is a star pattern inspired by “the surface of Zeta Halo,” while the top vent is lit by a Cortana-like blue light. Adding to the aesthetic, the console operates with Halo-themed sounds when powered on or off.

While the aforementioned Halo Infinite Xbox Series X also comes with a matching controller, Microsoft also made sure to announce another Halo-themed controller to debut alongside the bundle. Called the Halo Infinite Elite Series 2, this premium peripheral replicates the military green of Master Chief’s iconic Mjolnir power armor, with the “iridium gold” D-pad being reflective of the hero’s visor. On top of that, the Elite controller also comes with custom elements such as adjustable thumbstick tension, swappable buttons, and a UNSC-themed carrying case.

Both pieces of Halo Infinite Xbox hardware are currently listed as limited edition, so interested parties would probably need to hustle their bustle and get one while they can. The custom Xbox Series X console is currently available for pre-order on the Microsoft Store and “select retailers” for $549.99 USD, while the Master Chief Elite Series 2 controller is also up for pre-order for $199.99 USD. Both are currently set to release ahead of the main game on November 15th.
