Kingdom Come Deliverance Total Conversion Mod Recreates Game Of Thrones

Kingdom Come Deliverance is set to release in a little over a week, and there are teams already developing mods for the game. One such team is in the works of a total conversion mod that will recreate the Game of Thrones universe through the game. The group behind the mod has experiencing bringing the epic storyline of Game of Thrones into another video game called Total War: Attila. They switched from their work in that title to focus on this mod instead.

Kingdom Come Deliverance

Through their FAQ section on their website, they go into further detail about why they made the switch:

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a brand new game utilizing the powerful CryEngine. This means it’s easier to create quality assets and to render them with next-gen shaders. The open-world and story-driven aspects of the game are better suited to the Game of Thrones universe, giving us much more potential for new features and gameplay modes. Most importantly, Warhorse Studios stands behind the modding community and has been very vocal about supporting mods.”

The mod, which is entitled “The Seven Kingdoms,” will not be recreating scenes from the TV show. Players will however be able to see the prominent houses and characters around the total conversion mod, but it will not duplicate any storylines that viewers have already seen. It is also important to note that the TV series will be the primary source for the details of the game, meaning fans of the books should keep this in mind when they play.

Additionally in their FAQ section, they detailed what players can expect in this Kingdom Come Deliverance mod:

The mod will be centered in the Riverlands during the War of the Five Kings. This location was selected because it closely resembles the visuals of the KC:D game (trees, buildings, etc.) and is best suited to the original game’s storyline. Dozens of armies were present in this hotly contested area (Stark, Lannister, Tully, Bracken, Karstark, etc.) along with gangs of bandits and freeridersroaming the countryside. With two warring sides, dangerous no-man’s-land, and civilians caught in the middle between it all, it’s a content-rich environment and the ideal location for an open-world mod.”

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set to release on February, 13th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
