Thanos Actor Josh Brolin Joins the Deadpool 2 Cast as Cable
Rumors have been rampant as to who the lucky actor would be picked to portray Cable in the Deadpool 2 for the Marvel films. Many fans had their picks of who they would like to see in the role, but after months of speculation – the rumors can finally be laid to rest. Josh Brolin has officially been confirmed for a 4-picture deal playing Cable in the upcoming movie.
No word yet on if and how this will impact his role as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War as well as Avengers 4, though it will be interesting to see Brolin take on this character in the sequel film to the first Deadpool. As seen in the hilarious Instagram post above from Brolin himself, he definitely seems ready to “crush it” for the upcoming films. Considering his contract was a 4-picture deal, it does seem likely that he will also be reprising the role in the X-Force spinoff that has been confirmed to house both Deadpool and Cable.
There is no specific date as of yet for when Deadpool 2 will be dropping in theaters, but it is slated for a 2018 release. After a tumultuous start to the film, including leadership changes and casting adjustments, the movie is promised to capture the hilarity and organic Deadpool feel that the first film captured. Atlanta actress Zazie Beetz has also been confirmed to take on the character Domino.
