Flip Out – For Honor Now Utilizing Emotes to Dodge Attacks in Game!
Emoting has always been a fun way to taunt your opponent in video games. If you’ve been playing For Honor lately and engaging in intense combat for glory, you might just want to take a minute to pick up a few Emotes to celebrate your victories in style. Or, as one eagle-eyed and very curious Redditor discovered, utilize those Emotes to assist you in victory.
Apparently, Redditor TheRealCrayfish discovered that by using the Flip Out Emote at the right time, you can actually help your character dodge certain attacks. This gamer didn’t specify whether or not the Flip Out Emotes works for all classes, or in all types of combat situations, but we do know for sure that the emote works for the Berserker class. TheRealCrayfish didn’t go into detail at all about how they discovered using Emotes was actually useful in evading attacks, but it definitely is worth noting that there may be more effective ways of dodging blows, especially if using Flip Out requires the perfect timing to leap gracefully over your opponents’ swinging weapons. And it may not be helpful against all attacks, so guessing which blows the enemy will use next might take some serious intuition. Not to mention, server lags could poorly impact your timing trying to execute such a flamboyant evasion. Even still… it’s kind of cool to see this little Easter Egg tucked into For Honor‘s programming. Perhaps the game developers poised the Berserker’s Flip Out jump just high enough to avoid attacks on purpose?
So, what do you think of the strange and rather hilarious use of Emotes in such a gritty and brutal game as For Honor? Do you play this hack-and-slash adventure?
