We recently learned that nerd favorite and rap star Donald Glover would be portraying the younger version of Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Star Wars Anthology film focusing on the early days of everyone’s favorite galactic smuggler and smirk-giver, Han Solo. Well, now we have confirmation that another geek culture icon will be seen in the Han Solo Anthology film, as The Mother of Dragons herself, Emilia Clarke, is joining the cast.

A post today on the official Star Wars website has announced that Emilia Clarke, most widely known for playing Daenerys Targaryen on the hit HBO drama series Game of Thrones, will make her first appearance in the Star Wars universe for the second anthology film to be released by Disney. “Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures”, stated the post.

Notably, this post does not give any mention as to what character Clarke will be portraying. Some might immediately consider the thought of her portraying a young Princess Leia, but considering that this film will take place before the original trilogy of films, it would mean that she cannot interact with the young Han Solo who will be played by Alden Ehrenrich. Fans have been theorizing that this film would feature Sana Starros, a character in the recent Marvel Star Wars comic series who claims to be Han Solo’s wife, so it could be possible that Clarke will portray a version of this character. No matter who she plays, it’s been an injustice that Emilia Clarke has not appeared in a Star Wars project sooner, and as the Queen promised, injustice has been answered with justice.
