Grand Theft Auto V PlayStation

The entire gaming industry is still shaken from the many surprises that came from the big Sony PlayStation 5 presentation yesterday. Their showcase unveiled numerous new games that are promised for the next-generation console, including Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Horizon Forbidden West. The presentation then culminated in the surprise reveal of the PlayStation 5 console itself. Most of the new games that were revealed yesterday were sequels or continuations of well-known franchises, with almost all of the brand new titles being announced for the first time. However, one perennial favorite did see a return, as a Grand Theft Auto PlayStation V remaster was officially announced.

Sony announced the new Grand Theft Auto V PlayStation 5 remaster during their big presentation yesterday seen on their official PlayStation YouTube channel. The trailer shows many familiar scenes and locations GTA V players will remember, with protagonists Michael, Franklin and Trevor all present. Also seen in the trailer is content from updates made throughout the past few years in Grand Theft Auto Online, such as the flying Deluxo car and the Diamond Casino. The description confirms that this next-gen version of the game will include the content added since the game’s initial launch, and that PS5 users will be gifted with three free months of Grand Theft Auto Online upon purchase of the game.

GTA Online Doomsday Heist Update

Rockstar promises that the Grand Theft Auto V PlayStation 5 remaster will include “a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the console’s powerful new hardware.” To get PlayStation players excited, PlayStation Plus players of GTA Online on PS4 will receive$1,000,000 of in-game currency added for every month they play the game until the PS5 version releases. GTA V was easily one of the best and most impactful games of the past two console generations, and it is great to see that it will live on into the next one as well.
