God Of War Praised As A “Good Thing” For The Industry By ’11-11′ Creative Director

God of War

There have been talks over recent months that single player games may be fading into the void of come and gone genres. While multiplayer titles certainly seem to be the focus at times, there is absolutely still an audience of those who wish to go it alone. That said, this year’s God of War proved that single player entries aren’t even close to dead, and one developer is praising them for such.

In a recent interview, 11-11: Memories Retold creative directer Yoan Fanise spoke about the importance of singe player adventures. They even mentioned how God of War is a win for the genre, considering the overwhelming amount of success it has seen since launch. “I think things are changing,” Fanise said.

“God of War was a very good thing for the industry because you can see that despite the fact that there is no multiplayer, it sold well,” they continued. “It’s good because it’s just about whether it’s interesting, and whether the story is compelling.” Anyone who has been paying attention knows that the popular game following Kratos and his son is not lacking in either of those departments. Whether you’ve played it or not, it’s hard to avoid the hype surrounding the title. Either way, that must mean single player games still have a seat at the table.

The likely reason behind Fanise’s praise for God of War is the fact that 11-11: Memories Retold aims to provide fans with a rich single player experience of its own. According to the title’s description, it’s “inspired by real events where players participate on both sides of a complex historical event that will confront them with the realities of war at the front and the rear but most importantly what men are really made of.”

The Bandai Namco title is set to arrive on November 9th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
