Mortal Kombat 11 Addresses Difficulty In New Updates, Patch Notes Revealed

Despite a pretty solid response from many outlets regarding the release of Mortal Kombat 11, the game’s creative story and fresh gameplay weren’t enough to totally escape criticism. Supplemental challenge modes such as the Towers of Time and the loot-unlocking of The Krypt have been called out for their unrelenting difficulty, many going as far as to surmise the grind might be a tactic to encourage purchase of microtransactions.

As NetherRealm recently made known, these shady practices were very much not their intent, the studio subsequently planning to address these well-documented issues in a future update. Only a few days removed from the initial furor, contents of these upcoming fixes have now been unveiled, devs addressing several prominent complaints of these challenge modes across PC and consoles.

In addition to various bug fixes, AI tweaks, and balancing, the updates were also confirmed to come with a bevy free in-game Kurrency, allowing fans to spend as they wish in The Krypt as well as the cosmetic store. The upcoming fixes, while not having official dates, were confirmed to arrive soon, ranging from “the next day or two” into “early next week.” NetherRealm’s released patch notes (via Reddit) can be viewed below.
