Ghost Of Tsushima Director's Cut Announced Featuring A New Island (VIDEO)

To Sony and Sucker Punch’s credit, the existence of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut was kept under wraps until just recently, when an ESRB rating for the game was leaked. Shortly after the cat left the proverbial bag, Sony has officially announced Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, which includes PS5-specific enhancements, loads of new features, and a brand new island to explore.

Sony took to its PlayStation blog site today to detail what fans can expect from the definitive version of Ghost of Tsushima. Releasing later this month for PS4 and PS5, the latter version will feature some additional features befitting Sony’s latest console. The game will take advantage of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, while there will also be enhancements to 3D audio, improved load times, and 4K resolution options with framerates targeting 60 FPS. Given the PS5’s ability to render cinematics in real time, cutscenes will now feature accurate lip sync for Japanese voice overs.

As for the actual content of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, the definitive edition will feature every piece of additional content available for the game to date, as well as the brand new island of Iki for Jin to explore. A neighboring island of Tsushima, Jin “travels to the island to investigate rumors of a Mongol presence,” per Sony. “But soon, he finds himself caught up in events with deeply personal stakes that will force him to relive some traumatic moments from his past.”
