Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut ESRB Rating Leaked

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut

Sony’s domination of the video game console market continues with bounds and leaps, with their first-party exclusive titles being the big selling points for the console to its audiences. One such successful first-party title in recent years has been Ghost of Tsushima, which many considered to be the game of the year in 2020. One new trend that seems to be emerging in games as an excuse to bring them to next-gen consoles is the director’s cut re-release, such as the recently announced Death Stranding director’s cut. Now, it appears that the ESRB has leaked a Ghost of Tsushima director’s cut with their rating for the game.

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut

The ESRB has listed their rating for the possibly leaked Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on their official website. The listing suggests that a Director’s Cut of Ghost of Tsushima will be coming to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in the future. No information was given regarding what might be different about this supposed Director’s Cut, or what additional content might be included with it. With this version bringing the game to the PlayStation 5 specifically, it would seem likely that next-gen tech upgrades, such as ray-tracing and compatibility with the DualSense controller’s extra features, would be likely included in the new version of the game.

The listing gives the Director’s Cut of the game an M for Mature rating, citing “Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Language and Partial Nudity.” Fittingly enough, this was the exact same rating and criteria that the ESRB had given to the original PlayStation 4-only version of Ghost of Tsushima. Hopefully more about this Director’s Cut is revealed soon, and likely it may be during the next PlayStation State of Play digital event, of which one is expected to happen some time this summer. It’s good to know that Ghost of Tsushima will not be a specter of the past for long.
