Genshin Impact Version 1.4’s Hangout Events Explained

Genshin Impact Version 1.4's Hangout Events Explained

Genshin Impact’s highly anticipated Version 1.4 update is releasing in just a few days, with players able to pre-install the update as of the 14th. While the combat-related events and quality of life features are certainly enough to look forward to, many players are simply excited to spend more time with their favorite Mondstadt characters via the upcoming Hangout Events. Now, it’s been revealed just how these Hangout Events will work once Version 1.4 goes live.

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo recently took to Twitter to outline some of what to expect from Version 1.4’s Hangout Events. Said events will allow players to spend time with some of Mondstadt’s various 4* characters – Barbara, Noelle, Bennett, and Chongyun – with each event containing multiple endings, not unlike your typical dating sim. The most cumbersome part of the event is that each character’s story will require two Story Keys to unlock, so it’s important to stock up on the max limit of 3 prior to the start of Version 1.4.

During each character Hangout Event, players will be able to choose different dialogue options that will influence the direction of the story and the character’s Heartbeat Value, which will determine whether the story will be allowed to continue. As such, each Hangout Event will feature multiple endings that the player can unlock by repeating the quest and choosing different dialogue options. I’m telling you, it’s like a dating sim in a gacha game.

Aside from experiencing new dialogue with each 4* character, the primary benefit to unlocking each ending is that doing so will allow the player to obtain different Hangout Memories – in the form of photographs – and ending rewards such as Primogems, Hero’s Wits, and more.

Genshin Impact is now available on PC, PS4, and Android & iOS devices.
