New Lawsuit Against Borderlands Studio’s CEO Cites Alleged Child Pornography, “Adult Parties” Feat. Minors, and Embezzlement
It was announced to the public today that a new lawsuit by former Gearbox counsel Wade Callender against CEO Randy Pitchford has been made. The suit contains many accusations against the Gearbox leader including breach of contract and embezzling 12 million dollars that was allegedly intended for the company’s employees. However, there is a darker part of the entire lawsuit that makes the case even worse.
Kotaku recently reported a new lawsuit by the former counsel that paints a shockingly grim picture for the man behind one of the biggest companies in gaming. The main lawsuit seems to be focused on over 12 million dollars that CEO Randy Pitchford reportedly kept to himself, but what was more shocking was allegations regarding child pornography.
“Upon information and belief, Randy Pitchford’s USB drive also contained Randy Pitchford’s personal collection of ‘underage’ pornography.” Callender’s statement then states that the CEO allegedly housed parties where “adult men have reportedly exposed themselves to minors, to the amusement of Randy Pitchford.”
A Gearbox spokesperson gave an exclusive statement to Kotaku, stating “The allegations made by a disgruntled former employee are absurd, with no basis in reality or law. We look forward to addressing this meritless lawsuit in court and have no further comment at this time.”
In regards to the details on the embezzlement allegations, the document stated “personal, secretive ‘Executive Bonus’ 0f $12,000,000 to be paid directly to Pitchford entity called ‘Pitchford Entertainment Media Magic, LLC.’.” It further went into details citing that “This is particularly tragic exploitation because these millions are being syphoned to Randy Pitchford’s personal accounts instead of funding the development of Borderlands.”
Between the allegations of embezzlement and the terrible details about Randy Pitchford’s collection of child pornography, many gamers are left to wonder how this will impact Gearbox Studios and the future of the Borderlands franchise.
