Fortnite X Mayhem Crossover Brings Borderlands Characters To Battle Royale (VIDEO)

Fortnite X Mayhem

Fortnite continues to dominate the multiplayer video game landscape with its popular battle royale mode. The game also has fans fixated on the additions of new skins, emotes and other cosmetic content added to the game. Some of the most popular of these have been cross-promotional tie-ins, such as skins of Thanos, Hopper from Stranger Things and John Wick. They seem to be happening more frequently lately, so it would only make sense for a crossover with other video games to happen at some point. It seems this is now finally the case, as a new Fortnite X Mayhem crossover event will bring Borderlands characters to the battle royale.

Epic Games announced the Fortnite X Mayhem crossover event with a new video on their official Fortnite YouTube channel. To celebrate the upcoming launch of Borderlands 3, new Borderlands DLC will be available for purchase in the Fortnite store.  The big highlight is the Psycho bundle, which includes a skin that looks like the Psycho enemies seen in the games, a Clap Trap back bling accessory and a special Borderlands pickaxe. Additional Borderlands loot will also be available, such as Psycho mask graffiti designs and gun wraps that make weapons look like cel-shaded Borderlands items.

The event also brings a unique Pandora Zone to the Fortnite map, which proudly displays a graphic style similar to the cel-shaded world of Borderlands different from the usual Fortnite graphics. For the custom map-making feature, there will also be Borderlands-themed objects that can be placed, also with Borderlands art-style. This is perhaps the most unique Fortnite crossover event yet, and hopefully fans of both Fortnite and Borderlands find much enjoyment out of these new additions. It’s also just really refreshing to see two game developers crossing border(land)s.
