Fortnite Versus PUBG: Adult Swim Hilariously Picks A Side (VIDEO)
Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds are two of the hottest topics in gaming right now. Both battle royale games have garnered tons of attention lately, be it from celebrity streamers or otherwise, a fact made all too apparent by how often both games get talked about pretty much anywhere gaming is relevant. While the Fortnite versus PUBG rivalry itself has toned down, it hasn’t stopped fans on both sides of the wall from claiming superiority over the other. Now, it appears that even Adult Swim has officially picked a side.
Recently a Fortnite fan theory surfaced suggesting that comet was on its way to the game’s Battle Royale map, hellbent on destroying Tilted Towers. The theory has since gained some traction, and Adult Swim decided to have a little fun with it in the ad shown above. The ad mentions that a comet is on its way and says “good,” before then saying “we hope it destroys the whole game.” Apparently as far as Fortnite versus PUBG goes, subtlety is out the window.
The ad ends with #PUBGrules, and, well, now the entire Fortnite subreddit wants to boycott Adult Swim. Regardless of whether or not whoever came up with the ad actually meant it, it’s certainly a clever piece of marketing.
Fortnite is now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PUBG is now available for PC and Xbox One.
