Fortnite Season 10 Teases Mecha-Sized Return
Despite being a free-to-play game, Fortnite continues to dominate the battle royale market and the video game industry in general. The game met significant milestones this past week, with the celebration of its second birthday, as well as the holding of the inaugural Fortnite World Cup. Recently, the game also hosted a big event that saw a kaiju and mecha face off on the Battle Royale Island as a means of finishing the game’s 9th season. Now, Epic Games has announced when Fortnite Season 10 will start, and has teased the return of the powerful mech suit.

Epic Games recently confirmed the start date of Fortnite Season 10 on their official Twitter account. The tweet confirms that Fortnite Season 10 will begin on August 1st, which lines up with the current timeframe given to current players regarding the end of season 9. It will be at this point that players will need to purchase the new Season 10 pass to collect all the new premium reward items during the new season.
The tweet does not mention any new details, but it does provide a picture of a mech suit’s silhouette. Previous seasons have introduced new vehicles like golf carts and hoverboards, so this season could very well include a mecha that can be controlled by the player. The recent mecha vs. kaiju event was mainly a spectator quarrel, so it would be nice to let players have some titanfall-esque battles in the royale. And if we can see a mech suit T-Pose and Dab, that would be even better.
