Fortnite Item Shop Adds Two New Jailbird Outfits, Plus New Emote

A new day, a new skin for Fortnite player as two new outfits from the recent leak have officially arrived! The latest additions are perfect if you’re like us and dig dropping near the prison – familiar territory, right? “Victory may only be one sneaky step away with the new Rapscallion Outfit and Jailbird Gear,” said Epic Games about their latest shop add-ons – and not going to lie, they’re sort of perfect.

As the week comes to a close, many Fortnite players are wrapping up this week’s battle pass challenges and getting down on that shopping cart fun. What awaits for us next week remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – Epic Games is going to make it fun as hell for all involved.

In other Fortnite news, did you know that the Blitz Showdown V2 is now live? It’s the latest Limited Time Mode to be brought back and better than ever! Here’s what the devs had to say about the recent changes and what players have to look forward to:

We received great suggestions and advice for Solo Showdown over the course of the competitive LTM from players all over the world who participated. The Fortnite team also has a few fun stats to share from the Solo Showdown LTM.”

  • For the top 100 players, the average eliminations per game was 4.96
  • Average Solo Showdown match length was 5% longer than regular solo.
  • The tiebreaker difference between #100 and #101 was seven eliminations.
  • The European region had the most players in the top 1000.
  • Teamers were banned from the event and cheaters were permanently banned from Fortnite.

So what’s different, exactly? According to Epic, “Blitz Showdown picks up on the pace and speed. Circles will be faster, combat more rapid, and eliminations now factor into the final scores. After 25 games, you will be scored based on each match’s placement and eliminations. And we’ll be rewarding 100 players this time per server region! (NAE and NAW will be counted as one server region.)”

When discussing the future of the Showdown, they mentioned “Expect ‘Showdown’ Limited Time Modes to serve as a test of your survival talent. We’ll continue to make adjustments to future Showdown matches. Additionally, we’re looking to grow opportunities for all types of players to challenge their skills in their own way. We’ll be exploring different Showdown formats on a regular basis in the future.”

Ready to get down? Here are the rewards on the line:

1st Place:  20,000 V-Bucks

2nd – 5th Place:  13,500 V-Bucks

6th – 100th Place:  7,500 V-Bucks

The LTM is just that – Limited Time, so don’t miss out on the latest in-game shenanigans!

Fortnite is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and iOS players. Android is still on the way, though we don’t have a specific release date. What we do have, however, is a very promising Nintendo Switch leak – it’s only a matter of time before it’s officially announced!
