Fortnite Battle Royale Comet Inbound With Limited Time Mode
Outside of the massive server issues that Epic Games has been experiencing recently with their mega popular Battle Royale title, players have been trying their hardest to have a good time. One object that has caught the attention of many is the Fortnite Battle Royale comet. Well, it looks like it isn’t flying high in the sky just to provide a pretty visual for gamers, as it will be triggering something soon.
Two Epic Buddies unveiled their findings over on Twitter. Hidden away in the game’s files is a bit of data that clues people in on an upcoming Limited Time Mode. Titled “Impact,” the mode will seemingly be set off by the Fortnite Battle Royale comet that has been hanging around up above. Check out the discovery in the tweet below:

We can also tell from the above data that Impact will be available for both Solo and Squad play, but we can’t decipher when that pesky comet will drop. Considering they’ve got bigger issues on their plate, Epic Games hasn’t confirmed any information as of yet. However, many events and items that have been uncovered in the past have come to the game, so the info in the tweet just might be legitimate. Unfortunately, we’ll probably have to wait until after the game’s servers are fixed before we get any details.
Speaking of the servers, they were taken down last night for emergency maintenance. It’s anyone’s guess as to when they will be fully operational again, but Epic has informed players of the current state of everything on Fortnite’s status page. Check that out below:
- Website and Forums – Operational
- Game Services – Under Maintenance
- Login – Under Maintenance
- Parties, Friends, and Messaging – Operational
- Voice Chat – Operational
- Matchmaking – Operational
- Stats and Leaderboards -Operational
