First Look at Yakuza 6 Trailer From Playstation Experience (Video)

We haven’t seen an addition to Sega’s Yakuza series since Yakuza 5 on the Playstation 3. In the past, the west has had to wait much longer to get an English release of the games, but a western release of Yakuza 6 was announced this year at the Tokyo Game Show.

For those that are unfamiliar with the story in the Yakuza series, Sega has also announced an HD remake of the original Yakuza, (originally released on Playstation 2) titled Yakuza Kiwami. On November 3rd, at Playstation Experience, we got a fresh trailer for Yakuza 6 and Yakuza Kiwami, and the games look like they’re going to be a blast.

The Yakuza games are open world action-adventure titles and generally center around the playable character Kazuma Kiryu as he struggles to fight for his clan and obtain power by any means necessary. Most games in the series received a positive reception, both in Japan and across the globe.

We’ll see Yakuza Kiwami come out first, with a tentative release date in the summer of 2017. Yakuza 6 is planned to release early in 2018, but if you just can’t wait, a playable demo will be included in Yakuza Kiwami. A this time, no hard date has been announced for either game, but at least we won’t have to wait years for a separate English release of the upcoming titles!
