Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Release Date Revealed (VIDEO)
It looks like Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is arriving a bit sooner than we expected. Announced earlier this year at E3 2019 following a slew of new Final Fantasy VII Remake information, the title was slated for a release window of late 2019. Thankfully, it appears that our waiting is just about over. Square Enix has revealed the official release date of the remaster alongside a brand new trailer in celebration of the game’s upcoming launch. Check it out below:
Final Fantasy VIII Remastered was announced in a bit of a surprise move by Square Enix, simply due to the fact that most of the other later FF titles had already made their way onto the latest consoles. The noted absence of FF8 news had people questioning whether or not Square Enix still had the source code for the game, as Squaresoft was notorious back in the 90’s for not keeping track of such things. That and the fact that the game’s “Eyes on Me” song was the subject of some feuding between the publisher and the artist lead many to believe that Square Enix wouldn’t be able to do anything else with the title.
Now that the publisher has begun taking pre-orders for the game, the rumors of it seemingly having a physical edition have been put to bed. Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is now available for pre-order at a cost of $19.99, and will release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 3rd, 2019.
