Final Fantasy VII Remake Sony Walkman Exists And It Is Beautiful (VIDEO)
While FFVII Remake was only one part of a multiple-part series, it still resonated with fans and newcomers alike. As such, fans have been quick to celebrate the game and its characters through methods like merchandise and cosplay. Square Enix made sure to release plenty of merchandise to celebrate the game, but the official Final Fantasy VII Remake Sony Walkman is one that has mostly gone unnoticed until now.
CDJapan recently listed the details of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Sony Walkman on their official website. Fans may be surprised to see that not only did Sony create a special edition Walkman themed around the FFVII Remake, but that they are still producing Walkmans in general in 2020. Sadly though, the limited edition Walkman was only available in Japan and was already sold out. Luckily, YouTube user Dino Bravo shared an unboxing of the unit they were able to obtain.
The box features gorgeous artwork from the game and the back of the device features an etching on the Final Fantasy VII Remake title and logo. It automatically comes loaded with a FFVII Remake background and the game’s official soundtrack. It is rather improbable that any more of these special Walkmans will be made, let alone made available in the West, but it is rather cool to see Sony celebrate the Final Fantasy VII Remake in this special way. This is probably the closest anyone could get to adding materia to their multimedia device.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently available exclusively on PlayStation 4, and is expected to launch on other platforms in 2021.
