Final Fantasy VII Remake Job Listing Confirms Game As Action-Based
With the pending release of Kingdom Hearts III in January, all eyes concerned with the work of Square Enix will be fixated on the Final Fantasy VII Remake. While the development of the hotly anticipated remake is further along than people might think, it will still likely be several years before we see the launch of the game. Given how early it still is in its production phase, Square Enix is looking to recruit talent for the project. A new Final Fantasy VII Remake job listing has surfaced, detailing much about how the developer envisions the game.
Square Enix has released the new Final Fantasy VII Remake job listing for a VFX Designer on their official website. The developer is looking specifically for a 3DCG designer familiar with VFX, MAYA, Photoshop and 3D games, especially the Unreal Engine. What is most interesting about the job listing is how they’ve chosen to describe the project for potential employees:
You can play an active part in the position which is the core of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE which is remade as an action. It is a chance to challenge the world as a new FINAL FANTASY action.”
This certainly backs up the impression that Square Enix has given about the FFVII remake thus far. The game has appeared to match the action gameplay style that the developer has utilized in Final Fantasy XV and the Kingdom Hearts series. This seems to now be the preference for Square Enix’s highest profile titles, which to many presents the higher production values in modern major console games in a greater way. Still, for those that prefer menu-based RPG’s, Square Enix has not completely abandoned their roots. The success of Octopath Traveler on the Nintendo Switch right now speaks to that. Hopefully, they’ll find the right match for the new job position, so that the FFVII Remake pays the highest tribute to the classic PS1 game.
