Fallout 4 Mod Recreates the New Vegas Map into the Game, New Quests Also Possible (VIDEO)
Fallout: New Vegas is considered one of the best in the series, especially for its solid combat and equipment systems. It’s interaction with a colorful cast of characters and the various quests offered throughout the game also contribute it to being a fan favourite. It’s no surprise then that it gains a lot of attention in the modding community, for example in the past a mod called The Frontier, which aimed to act as a massive expansion to the game. Now there’s a new mod being created by Sir_Bumfrey_Diggles and is bringing the entire New Vegas map into the latest title in the series: Fallout 4.
Note that the F4NV mod is a work in progress, and very early at that. Sir_Bumfrey_Diggles and his cohorts have already recreated parts of the New Vegas world into Fallout 4, Goodsprings and Primm. You can tell by the video that progress is early, especially that very low draw distance, but it’s still impressive nonetheless. Diggles and his team have quite the project ahead of them. The team will also be using the map as a platform to bring about entirely new quests:
I am not doing any quests or scripting in this mod. I just make the world and maybe a few NPCs. The aim of this mod is not to recreate New Vegas in fallout 4, but to use the same location as a setting for another quest mod. That being said, I would be willing to get some of the base New Vegas quests into there just for fun, and if anybody wants to take it further they can use the map, which I will release as a modders resource once its more or less finished.”
After Fallout 4’s release in 2015, it’s good to see that the game continues to grow in other media as well as mods, like the new Fallout tabletop game coming soon. Gamers will continue to game, and modders will continue to mod. Let us know what kind of mods you’re looking forward to as well as any Fallout thoughts you have in the comments section below.
