Electronic Arts May Be Teasing A Return To Steam
After numerous years of middling success with its digital platform Origin, Electronic Arts may be planning at least a partial move back to Steam. The company recently released a short clip of an EA mug with steam beginning to rise out of the top. The only caption to the clip is “…” though its meaning seems a bit transparent. There is of course more precedent than this in regards to a potential jump back onto Steam. Just a few days ago, Twitter user RobotBrush discovered that there was an application that would allow Origin games to run on Steam. Check out the tweet below:

The application in question suggests that Electronic Arts will likely continue to sell and allow users to play its games through Origin, though it may also offer some connectivity through Steam as well. It would be an interesting move back to the platform for EA, though it would likely result in a boost of profit if those that have refused to utilize the Origin launcher until now all of a sudden had reason again to purchase EA titles on PC. We’ll keep our eyes peeled and report any relevant news as it is revealed.
