Doomguy Isabelle Mashup Cosplay Combines DOOM and Animal Crossing
It is somewhat daunting to remember that the COVID-19 pandemic has lasted for over a year now. As the one-year anniversary passed roughly a month ago, memories of the earliest quarantines and lockdowns have sparked in the minds of those staying secure at home. One such early memory is the proliferation of memes regarding the dual-releases of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and DOOM Eternal, which happened shortly after lockdowns began last year, with even Bethesda getting in on that meme action. Now, a talented cosplayer has extended this meme through a new Doomguy Isabelle mashup cosplay.

Recently covered by Game Informer, cosplayer Mads_five shared their new Doomguy Isabelle mashup cosplay on their official Twitter account. The cosplay references memes that had photoshopped the head of Isabelle from Animal Crossing: New Horizons onto the head of Doomguy, the monster-killing protagonist from DOOM Eternal. Mads expressed plans to create a helmet to embody the appearance of Doomguy, but for now, simply used this opportunity to produce makeup and a wig to look like the cute doggo from ACNH.

Mads_five had somewhat teased their Doomguy Isabelle mashup cosplay by showing off their custom Super shotgun prop creation just days before unveiling the crossover. Using a combination of foam and Worbla, Mads was able to recreate the bladed shotgun from the DOOM reboot and eventually paint the weapon to look exactly as it does in the games. Animal Crossing: New Horizons and DOOM Eternal continue to be held warmly in the hearts of gamers, especially after a year where their distracting nature was sorely needed. We stan Isabelle + Doomguy forever.
