The wait for the PC port of Detroit: Become Human is officially almost over. Releasing roughly a year and a half ago for PS4 and Xbox One, the Quantic Dreams title is finally poised to make the big jump from console to PC via the Epic Games Store. The developer recently released a new trailer for Detroit: Become Human that shows off a tantalizing look at what fans can look forward to in the PC version, including graphical enhancements exclusive to this particular port. Check out the release date reveal trailer below:
The folks over at Prima Games recently sat down with studio head David Cage to discuss whether or not bringing Detroit: Become Human to PC was a challenging endeavor. “I wouldn’t say it was difficult,” Cage said. “The thing is, we didn’t want to do a straight port and just have a PlayStation game on PC. We really wanted to re-design the controls, see how the game could work with a keyboard and a mouse, and we spent literally a year just working on re-designing the interface. We also wanted to improve the engine and make sure that it would run smoothly on all PCs, not just high-end PCs. And that people will see a real improvement, that it is a real PC game and not just a port straight from PlayStation, so we put a lot of effort and time and energy into doing this.”
The PC version of Detroit: Become Human releases through the Epic Games Store for $39.99 on December 12.
