Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer for Detective Pikachu, and it’s absolutely hilarious. In addition to the humor, we also get a further look into what we can expect from the film’s release in a few months. More and more familiar Pokémon can be seen throughout the video, and we also get to hear Ryan Reynolds have some hilarious one-liners as Pikachu. Check it the trailer for yourself:
You don’t need to run off and brush up on your french to see what “caliente fiesta” means – it’s Spanish for “hot party.” It’s just another funny example of how hilarious Detective Pikachu is shaping up to be. While the humor was great, it was awesome to see many familiar faces like Lickitung (though what the Hell), Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, Charizard, and Mr. Mime – who was giving Pikachu a hard time trying to get information while not “using his words!”
Haven’t heard of Detective Pikachu yet? No worries! Below is a brief synopsis of the upcoming movie that releases on May 10th:
“The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.”
