Destiny 2: Menagerie Dances With A World of Warcraft Reference

Destiny 2

Destiny 2 has had an incredible amount of different events to take part in, and the Menagerie is no different. Equally, the developers over at Bungie and peppered in plenty of different easter eggs throughout the online shooter, including in the Menagerie engagement itself. One of the bosses you will face has a very similar mechanic that players will feel reminiscent of a boss fight from World of Warcraft!

Destiny 2

In Bungie’s most recent blog post, Destiny 2 director Luke Smith shes some light on an engram’s worth of information about the game. The blog post detailed information that ranged from various controversies to little easter eggs that players might have missed – including a certain dancing mechanic players might remember! According to Smith, “Fun fact! Heigan the Unclean was often called the “dance” boss in the [World of Warcraft] raid Naxxamaras and Hasapiko means “the butcher’s dance” in Greek. It’s a little nod back to Blizzard’s Xur reference.”

World of Warcraft players will remember the Heigan the Unclean engagement from Naxxaramas, where the safety dance mechanic goes into play – unless you just want to die. Players needed to jump around the boss room to the next safe area to avoid getting killed by the death-dealing poison. Likewise in the Hasapiko, Beloved of Callus engagement in the Menagerie, players need to dodge the deadly walls of energy coming their way sent by mighty Vex boss.

Destiny 2 and the Menagerie are available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC!
