Destiny 2 Going Hard On Cheaters In Forsaken

destiny 2

A new announcement from Bungie has revealed new measures to crack down on cheaters in Destiny 2. Beginning September 4th, Destiny 2 will enact restrictions and bans on player accounts that have benefited from abnormally frequent disconnects in Season 3. This is said to include those disconnects where players voluntarily jumped ship when consistently matched with the same opponents.

Bungie’s improved cheater system owes its thanks to an update in the analysis and detection tools that have been looking at match data over the last few months. According to the update the level of severity for cheating in Destiny 2 could mean restrictions from Crucible, or an all out ban. Players may find themselves removed from accessing pinnacle Crucible rewards both present and future. It is also possible that players could be removed from all game activities.

Bungie has noted that more improvements to Destiny 2 will continue to roll out to help combat cheating and offer a better overall experience as Season 4 rolls out. There is some concern that some players may be penalized for simply having poor connections, or due to server issues. It is likely that Bungie has already considered this as they’ve sifted through the data but time will tell for sure.

These new features have arrived right as the third expansion, Forsaken. The expansion is preparing to be released for Year 2 on September 4th, meaning fans can expect a somewhat different experience starting soon. Players can get their hands on Destiny 2 for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.

Are there any concerns for this new approach to cheating? What other methods of cheating should be removed from Destiny 2? Join in on the conversation in the comment section below! Don’t forget to follow DFTG on Twitter for live gaming and entertainment news 24/7!

Sometimes you get pulled out of matches for various reasons – you accepted a friend’s invite to a raid or a friend popped over at your home or an important call- things like that….most of the time the ones who are quitting early are not the cheaters – the cheaters are usually the Ahats glitching all over the place. Do not punish people just because they left early – if you must then just give them a five minute time out from doing anymore PVP. While we are on the subject of Gambit – it is super fun but Bungie needs to lower the health bar on the Invader – it is waaay over-powered.

    I agree with KellyH.
I was restricted from gambit stain I was leaving the game; yet I didn’t; two f’ing times I was Ddosed, knocked me to orbit and the othe completely out of the game and had to long in.
    WTF Bunghole?
The lag switchers are a problem, but nothing like the jitter hacks, amibots,
Explain how cronusmax can still be used to exploit and hack this game?
Explain why you did not setup your own pc account portable instead of using battle.net instead?
Free account and NO MONTHLY PSN FEE?
When Bunghole released on PC all the pos cheaters jumped over to it because it is far far easier to cheat on a pc using macros, etc.
I can go on and one final note; cheaters given battle.net accounts are free BFD they are banned; they just re logon with another account.
