Destiny 2 Brings Back “Crimson Days” Valentine’s Themed Event

Crimson Days Event Destiny 2

Those who played the original Destiny a few years back may remember the multiplayer shooter’s yearly Crimson Days event which gave the Valentine’s Day holiday some love. The proceedings featured red gear galore, offering a plethora of new ghosts, sparrows, and weapon ornaments and presented an appropriate 2v2 mode called Crimson Doubles. Last year saw Crimson Days stricken from the Destiny event rotation, but now a Bungie Community Manager has confirmed the love has returned for 2018.

Following a datamine leak on Reddit, users found that the festive event was poised to make a return after the past year’s hiatus. Findings pointed toward a similar Valentine’s experience to previous years, but this time featuring a yet unannounced raid or PvP content along with possible connections to the Eververse. Bungie Community Manager Cozmo23 would comment positively to the rumors, confirming the Crimson Days event would return, but stopped short of confirming any of the other fan discoveries. Full details are expected to be revealed in Destiny 2‘s forthcoming blog update on Thursday, January 11th.

The rumors are True. Crimson Days is coming back. It won’t be the same as last year time (2016). We will talk about how it is changing in the blog update on Thursday.”

The changes teased could be to modify Crimson Doubles, as the mode became victim to hardcore exploiters in the most recent iteration. It’s also possible that an all-new mode could be introduced to get us into that Valentine’s Day spirit. One thing that wouldn’t be in fan interest is if the festivities were interrupted by Eververse paywalls, for which the previous winter event The Dawning infamously experienced a sizable backlash. Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
