Demon's Souls Remake Gets A New Gameplay Trailer Featuring The Flamelurker Boss (VIDEO)

If the original Demon’s Souls is remembered for just a few things, one of them would undoubtedly be the brutal boss fights. The folks over at Bluepoint Games thankfully appear to understand this, as the latest batch of Demon’s Souls Remake footage showing off the Flamelurker boss is both visually stunning and, well, pretty darn terrifying.

Sony has released a new Demon’s Souls Remake trailer showing off some of what to expect from one of the game’s areas, Stonefang Tunnel. We aren’t shown much outside of a falling boulder and an enemy wielding a sword that looks like it was pulled straight from the forge. Soon, the player comes across a fire-spitting spider (nothing’s ever easy, is it?), which gets conquered with some deft maneuvering and a bit of magic at the end.

After the spider is defeated, the player makes their way through more enemies, utilizing a blend of weapon swings and more magic to topple their foes. Unlike with the first trailer, one-hit kills are disabled, so the player has to put some work in. The player then drops down your obligatory dark hole and passes through another fog wall only to be greeted with a lovely boss intro cutscene. This is where the Balr….er, the Flamelurker shows up to wallop the player and put an end to their budding career as an adventurer. I’d’ve personally preferred an arrow to the knee versus being broiled alive.

The Demon’s Souls Remake is slated to release alongside the launch of the PS5 on November 12, 2020.
