Genshin Impact 1.1 Update Details Revealed Alongside New Trailer (VIDEO)

Genshin Impact continues to chug along, enticing would-be adventurers with some fairly enjoyable visuals and enough open-world The Legend of Zelda-esque game mechanics that it’s a wonder MiHoYo didn’t just actually call the game Breath of the Waifu. Anyways. It’s been announced that the highly anticipated Genshin Impact Update 1.1 is officially arriving on November 11, as revealed by the announcement trailer released by the developer.

MiHoYo took to the official Genshin Impact YouTube channel to release the ‘A New Star Approaches’ trailer, which serves to remind players that, yes, there is in fact a story hidden amongst all the waifus. In the trailer, we see pullable character Keqing rush into danger alongside the latest upcoming 5* characters, Childe and Zhongli. We also get some footage of new 4* characters Xinyan and Diona, who will offer “more effective elemental combos and combat strategies”. Check out the trailer below:

As for what else is coming in Update 1.1, fans can look forward to the new Seasonal Event ‘Unreconciled Stars,’ a two-week event “which calls on all players to fight back against a sudden and terrible catastrophe facing Teyvat.” Participating in this event will nab the player all sorts of goodies, including the 4* character Fischl, or another level in her Constellation should players already have her.

The new Reputation system is also making its debut, enticing players with regional goodies that can be obtained by helping out NPCs in each of the game’s cities. Some of the reward items include more customization options, a Treasure Compass, a Portal Waypoint, a Portal Stove, and a Wind Catcher that can store anemograna for on-demand wind updrafts, which should be great for exploration. Last but not least, Oculus Resonance Stones will be obtainable that will help locate nearby Anemoculi and Geoculi. I wish I had known that prior to finding them all on my own. Whoops!

On an even funnier note, MiHoYo is implementing a new special monster called the Forrest Hilichurl, designed after the dev’s company president, Forrest Liu. “The team designed this monster as an in-game cameo of our company president, Forrest Liu, in hilichurl form,” producer Hugh Tsia said to IGN. “Players, whenever you feel in a bad mood, or there’s something you’re not happy about in the game — and after you’ve voiced your concerns via the Feedback function — please feel free to seek out this most unusual hilichurl and vent all of your frustrations on him with my blessing.”

Genshin Impact Update 1.1 is slated to release on November 11, 2020.
