Death Stranding Upside Down Rainbow Appears in Argentina in Real Life

Death Stranding Upside Down Rainbow

The Death Stranding trailers so far have probably left viewers with more questions than concrete answers about the upcoming Kojima Productions game. The footage we’ve seen so far has featured much bizarre imagery and connectivity that has confused fans, likely as Hideo Kojima intended. Now, it seems that the very anticipated project is making an unexpected real world connection, as a rainbow not unlike the Death Stranding upside down rainbow seen in the trailer premiered at The Game Awards has appeared in Argentina.

The tweet seen above from @sabelor10 on Twitter shows a screenshot from the trailer that featured a character modeled, and likely portrayed by, acclaimed film director Guillermo Del Toro looking up towards the sky to monitor and evade attention from the armed soldiers patrolling the war-torn city. As Del Toro’s character looks upward, the sky displays a large upside down rainbow, seen in the left picture in the above tweet. To the right, is an image taken by @sabelor10 which shows a circular rainbow in the Rosario-Argentinian sky.  This round rainbow is commonly referred to in meteorology as a Halo. As @sabelor10 references in the tweet, this rainbow’s full circular arc is visible due to light from the sun interacting with ice crystals suspended in the earth’s atmosphere.

This tweet was retweeted by Hideo Kojima’s official English twitter account, and thus had fans wondering if this real world connection might have any meaning for the rainbow in the game. I just hope that we don’t see a real Mads Mikkelsen with scary militia under his control. What do you guys think? Did you think the real Death Stranding upside down rainbow looks cool? What from the game would you like to see made real? Let us know in the comments below.
