‘Tis the Season – Minecraft Holiday DLC is in Full Swing (VIDEO)

The ever-popular sandbox title, Minecraft, has released its newest Holiday Themed DLC pack today, and just in time for Christmas! The Minecraft Holiday DLC, titled the Festive Mash-up DLC, allows players to try out 21 different “cheerful” skins, a Christmas themed texture pack, and a holiday-focused world to add to their collection.

The Holiday themed update comes right alongside The Ender Update, an update that pits gamer against dragons in a high-flying, fantastical update. So far, it looks like the Ender update and the holiday-themed havoc are only going to be available on mobile and PC editions of Minecraft. While this might seem like a disappointment for other console gamers, those that do enjoy their Minecraft fix on those platforms can expect to find this update rolling out over the next few hours today.

For a quick look at what to expect in this latest holiday-themed DLC, check out the video below, graciously provided by Mojang, themselves:

The most exciting part of this update looks like the ability to switch between the varying skins with such ease. Whether you want to play a dastardly Dishevelf, a merry Toastmistress, or Mistletoes the Bigfoot, your game is only limited by how much time you want to put in (though if you’re already a Minecraft gamer, that shouldn’t be hard to do at all!). The Minecraft Holiday DLC also provides gamers with festive snow-capped log chalets, frozen lakes and caves to explores, and a few other character skins, including Yuletide Yeti, and Kris Kringle himself!

The Festive Mashup DLC runs gamers around $4, and is set for immediate download if you just can’t wait to get your hands on these holiday shenanigans. If you’re an avid Minecraft gamer, and you’re looking for a little bit more you can do with this pixelated adventure title, check out the Fallout 4 Mashup and expand your gameplay even further!
