Job Listing Hints at New Dark Fantasy RPG From Dark Souls Developer

Dark Souls Developer

The Fires Fade Edition of Dark Souls 3 is out and marks the end of the series. That’s not to say it’s the end of From Software but rather, a fresh beginning to another project. A new job listing is available on Silicon Studio Agent, a popular site used to hire creative people within the gaming industry. The listing is from an unnamed studio, looking for a 2D designer with experience in background and character/creature design to work on a dark fantasy, 3D action RPG. While the company’s identity remains a secret, there is evidence that the post may be from the Dark Souls developer.

This unnamed studio from the listing disclosed its work location as being based in Tokyo, 7 minutes from the Sasazuko train station on the Keio line. Guess who else lives there? That’s right, that’s the same location as the headquarters of From Software. Also supporting the theory indicates that From Software’s partnership with Siicon’s middleware. It would make sense for the company to use its partner to search for potential contractors, though From Software has multiple partners and that isn’t a requirement necessary to make a listing. From Software announced earlier this year that they were working on a vampire RPG, Code Vein. Vampires are definitely within the dark fantasy genre, which can only be further evidence that the job listing is in fact from the Dark Souls developer.

While Code Vein has been announced, this may be for another project altogether. From Software has put out a game every year since 1994, so it’s not a big stretch to imagine they may be working on a title for this year as well as Code Vein which is said to be releasing sometime next year.
