Watch Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley Build A LEGO Millennium Falcon (VIDEO)
Daisy Ridley won the hearts of fans across the globe with her performance of Rey in The Force Awakens. While she made it look easy piloting the Millennium Falcon in the film, building one by hand proves to be a bit more of a challenge. Ridley recently sat down for an interview with Elle UK to answer some fan questions while building her very own LEGO Falcon.
While in the interview, Ridley explained that there was definitely some pressure going into The Force Awakens portraying an entirely new main character. It would be easy to assume that there would be less pressure going into her second film in the franchise, however Ridley explained it’s just the opposite, there is in fact more pressure.
You would think that my second pop at Star Wars I would feel like a pro, but in fact I actually felt much more nervous. I felt more responsibility and more personal pressure because I knew what people had taken from it, so I was like ‘ahh I need to do this again’
Ridley also shared that she has no problems asserting herself, but sometimes doesn’t feel as though she has an opinion on the franchise as a whole or Rey as a character.
I’m not whatever but it’s important especially because I know the effect Rey had on people and the sort of direction Rey is going in the story of Star Wars and onwards the depiction of women in cinema and across the board I think is important to understand that and to have an input into where that’s going.
Ridley also mentions that if she had a lightsaber it would be pink and sparkly. She also has not been able to convert her father from Star Trek to Star Wars. The next installment in third trilogy, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, enters theaters on December 15th. Will Ridley be able to further her portrayal of Rey successfully?
