Conan Chop Chop Announced At E3 2019 (VIDEO)
April Fool’s Day this year saw Funcom ‘announce’ a cartoonish roguelike title set in the Conan universe. At the time it seemed to be a joke considering the day, however now it appears as though Conan Chop Chop is actually a legitimate title and will be arriving later this year.
While at the PC gaming show at this year’s E3, Funcom made the official announcement for Conan Chop Chop in all its roguelike glory. While the game takes a cutesy appearance, it will be incredibly challenging all the same. Players will be able to explore the vast world of the Conan universe from Koth, Hyperborea, Darkwood, Vanaheim and many more. All the while they’ll be able to fight through hordes of enemies as Conan or a whole host of various other warrior gods by themselves or with friends in up to 4-player couch co-op.
According to the description of the video above, players will be duking it out with Thoth-Amon and his minions on top of various other threats that stand in their way. Upon death, players will need to restart from scratch but as players progress new weapons will be unlocked for future runs. Combined with the wide variety of skills and combos for players to learn, there’s plenty to stay occupied with for quite a long time.
The treacherous wizard Thoth-Amon has devised a plan to resurrect the ancient evil that is Xaltotun. If he succeeds, he will condemn the world to an eternity of darkness and enslavement. Only you can stop him, but in order to do so you must use all your cunning. All your guile. You must summon all your courage and swordsmanship. You must … Chop Chop!
Conan Chop Chop is set to arrive on September 3rd for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Let us know your thoughts on Conan Chop Chop and more in the comments section below.
