Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Campaign Gameplay Trailer Revealed (VIDEO)

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Today’s PlayStation 5 Showcase showed a lot of intense and intriguing games, with the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War naturally making an appearance. The upcoming Call of Duty campaign is set to take players back to the early 1980’s on a mission to take down a Russian spy through a Black Operation. The title is sure to give players plenty of the adrenaline-fueled action fans have come to expect from the franchise, and to show that off they’ve revealed a new bit of gameplay from the upcoming title’s campaign.

The trailer shows a scene from the game’s first mission, “Nowhere Left To Run”, and sees players take control of Alex Mason who is working with Frank Woods and a new ally named Russell Adler. The team takes to Turkey and in a botched assassination attempt, after which they are forced to fight their way towards their target in order to make up for the missed sniper shot towards the beginning. Along the way multiple new mechanics were featured such as using enemies as a body shield, operating a remote-controlled car strapped with explosives as a weapon, new finishers, and more. All the while chaos ensues with a shoot out at an airstrip, a car chase, and all the tasty explosions fans could ask for.

The developers mentioned in a blog post that this small amount of gameplay is only a portion of the mission and fans are sure to get plenty more where that came from. The developers also announced that players on the PlayStation 4 won’t have to wait too long to play the game. PlayStation owners will have a chance to check out Call of Duty: Cold War’s multiplayer alpha on September 18th through the 20th, meanwhile, players on Xbox and PC will have to wait.
