Ubisoft Takes on New Avatar Game – Battlefield Producer Hired to Take the Helm

Ubisoft Stockholm

After spending 15 years with EA/DICE’s studio in Stockholm, veteran Patrick Bach is moving on to new things. Bach worked Star on Wars Battlefront as well as multiple Battlefield titles before leaving the company altogether. Now he’s been hired on to open the Ubisoft Stockholm studio with a team of very talented creators.

The new Ubisoft Stockholm Studio will collaborate with Massive Entertainment and work on AAA titles such as a new Avatar game. Bach made it known during an interview that he was looking forward to the opportunity given and ready to take on the challenge of opening this new studio.

I am thrilled to be joining the Ubisoft family, where I feel I will be able to use my experience in the game industry in a new and different way. My goal has always been to create the best possible gaming experiences for players. When talking toUbisoft about what we value most, it was clear that we share the same passion for nurturing teams’ creativity with that goal in mind.”

Ubisoft Stockholm is currently searching for more employees and plans to have up to 100 people under their employ. Massive is also looking to expand their numbers to 200, which makes a total of 300 new jobs to look into over the course of the next two years. If  interested in the job opportunities for either company, take a look here for more info for Stockholm, and here for Massive.

There are four Avatar sequels in the works currently, where will the Avatar game fit in to the story? Video game movies don’t have a very good track record of being all that grand, will this new Avatar game be any different?
