New Ubisoft Avatar Game by The Division Developer Announced (VIDEO)

Ubisoft Avatar Game

Despite the most recent (and only) Avatar film releasing 8 years ago, James Cameron has slowly been cultivating several different projects that will engross audiences in the blue-cat alien-populated world of Pandora that he created. Cameron’s partnership with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has been hyping Avatar fans the past few months with several videos showcasing the new Pandora: The World of Avatar attraction coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World. Somehow, between this attraction and the long process of completing the FOUR Avatar sequel film scripts, James Cameron has still had enough time to help approve and kick off development for a new Ubisoft Avatar game.

The video seen above has been posted to the official Massive Entertainment YouTube page this week, which has made this new Avatar project known to the public. The video pairs footage from the film (due to the game’s recent start in development, gameplay footage is not shown) with comments by the development team and James Cameron himself. The game will be developed by Massive Entertainment, the Ubisoft studio responsible for making Tom Clancy’s The Division. The studio will reportedly work with Cameron’s film company, Lightstorm Entertainment, to maintain the authenticity of Cameron’s vision for the world of Pandora.

The game will make use of Ubisoft’s Snowdrop game engine, but aside from this tidbit, very little is known about the game at this point. It will indeed bring players to the world of Pandora, but it is not known which, if any, characters from the film will be present, or what point in the Avatar saga timeline this will take place. However, given the internet, I think it might be a safe bet to let gamers roam free in a world of blue aliens that some might perceive as attractive. What do you guys think? Are you excited to play this new Ubisoft Avatar game? What aspects of the film would you like to see in the game? Let us know in the comments below or start a discussion on our Disqus page!
