Atlus' Catherine PC Port Teased With ESRB Rating, Lots Of Sheep

It shouldn’t be any surprise by now that Atlus’ ‘Catherine’ game is, well, pretty strange. Featuring some mind-bending puzzles wrapped in a story about adultery and, er, sheep, the title has long been considered a cult classic by fans, and it appears that the game may be getting a PC port in the near future.

The news comes by way of an official rating from the folks over at the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), which lists ‘Windows PC’ as one of the platforms for the game. As of now the only platforms that Catherine is available on are PS3, the Xbox 360, and the Xbox One, so unless this is a massive mistake, the rating is pretty telling. That, and, Steam has been overrun by sheep.

As I mentioned before, Catherine is a strange game, and SEGA and the Persona 5 developer appear to be dropping similarly strange hints about the upcoming PC port for the game. Throughout the title, sheep plague the mind of our poor (and very deserving) protagonist Vincent. In the past few days, pictures of sheep have been showing up in the announcement sections for both Valkyria Chronicles 4 and Bayonetta, both of which are, you guessed it, SEGA games.

Is this strictly indicative of an upcoming PC port for Catherine? No, but I’d let the above group of sheep eat my vast assortment of hats if this isn’t the case. Chances are we’ll get an official announcement from SEGA soon, otherwise Steam will simply have to move out to the countryside to raise all these lovely sheep.

Catherine is currently available for PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The remake for the game is coming to PS4 and PS Vita later this year.

So, thoughts on the potential PC port? Will being able to play it on PC finally convince you to play the game?
