Persona 5 R Officially Announced With New Trailer (VIDEO)

Persona 5 R Trailer

It’s looking to be a big year for Persona fans in 2019. After having a solid year of new releases with Persona 3 and 5-themed dancing/rhythm games in 2018, the next one promises plenty of new  content, including the arrival of Joker to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Recently, rumors had arisen about the release of Persona 5 on Nintendo Switch with a re-release of the game called Persona 5 R. Well, it looks like these rumors turned out to be trustworthy as Atlus has officially confirmed the re-release’s existence with a new trailer. Check it out below:

Atlus recently released the new Persona 5 R trailer on the official YouTube channel. The trailer does not reveal much information, and mostly only takes place in the Tokyo Square seen in the game. The new information given, mostly in Japanese, appears on the big screens in the square, including some that say “new projects”. The end of the trailer also acknowledges the new P5R website that Atlus registered that led to the recent rumors.

The trailer only shows the PlayStation logo, so presumably this Persona 5 R is only confirmed for release on PlayStation 4, but given the franchise’s history of re-releasing their games on handheld consoles, there’s a good case to be made for this game also coming to the portable Nintendo Switch. The screens in the trailer also imply that more information about the game will be given in March, so likely more clarity on the game’s aspects and other platforms will be made known then.

Until that day comes, it’ll be like a long wait in school for the weekend or summer vacation. What do you guys think about the new Persona 5 R trailer? Let us know in the comments below!
