Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Reveals Mastery Levels System
As Assassin’s Creed Odyssey grows, so too must its skill tree. Ubisoft aimed at making the smash-hit a true RPG, which requires unique builds for each player. They’ve done just that with the new Mastery Levels System to upgrade Alexios/Kassandra just how you desire.
In a blog post, Ubisoft provided a few short explanation on the new leveling design. The Mastery Levels System, which will be included in Version 1.1.1, provides players more refined ways to upgrade. Once players reach level 50, they can choose from 72 Mastery Levels, each of which can be upgraded 20 times. Every level up costs a single ability point, so you shouldn’t have any spares lying around.
Mastery Levels, like the rest of the skill tree, focus on either Hunter, Warrior, or Assassin skills. A posted image shows fire damage, armor penetration, and health restoration as potential skills. Adrenaline, armor, and resistance will all be available for upgrade as well. These passive bonuses “stack on top of your character build, as well as your weapons and gear,” giving you the best build imaginable.
Of course, players may not enjoy their new levels right away. Ubisoft has your back and will let you reset your Mastery Levels without affecting your base skills. The reset costs drachmae, the premium currency, but shouldn’t be overly expensive.
This update should arrive just in time for Legacy of the First Blade, the first DLC for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The expansion focuses on Darius I, son of Xerxes I and first wielder of the Hidden Blade. Darius encounters Alexios/Kassandra and helps guide the protagonist to lead a more meaningful life. The three-part DLC premiers December 4 with “Episode 1: Hunted.” Then in the spring, players can try out their new skillset in the Atlantis DLC. The world of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey just keeps growing and pulling us back in for more Greek adventures.
