Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Now Home To Guy Fieri's 'Flavortown Island'

We’ve covered a lot of strange things here at DFTG over the years, though this latest piece of news is pretty close to taking the cake in terms of the weird and unexpected. While many folks around the world have taken to Animal Crossing: New Horizons to help prevent themselves from going stir-crazy, so too have various celebrities and mainstream icons. One such person that has made a name for themselves utilizing their now iconic style and, well, flavor profiles, has officially done the same. That’s right, the man, the myth, the legendary Guy Fieri has set up his very own Flavortown Island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Guy Fieri recently took to Twitter to announce that Flavortown Island is officially a thing, with the icon “checkin’ out a joint run by local legend, Tom Nook!” which is clearly meant to be a reference to his show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Fieri doesn’t stop there, though, taking a jab at Tom Nook’s shark-like loan structure by stating that “Unlike the homes around here, you won’t have to take out a loan to afford these dishes.”

So, what is there to see on Flavortown Island? We can certainly expect to see more flame decals than one can find in a Harley Davidson shop, while the local eatery can likely only be described as being filled with dishes that are “money.” Fieri hasn’t said much else about the matter, though, so here’s hoping he’ll bring us along for a guided tour if the pandemic goes on long enough.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available on Nintendo Switch.
