Seinfeld Adventure Game Project Pitches “The Game About Nothing” (VIDEO)

Seinfeld Adventure

As long as there has been an internet scene for video game culture, fan creations that celebrate beloved franchises have been a consistent tradition. Many series have inspired the creativity of fans worldwide through so many methods, be it cosplay, fan art and parody videos. Perhaps the most impressive creations are when full video games are developed by fans, which has been seen instances like the Black Mesa fan-remake of the original Half-Life, or one fan’s Super Bernie World platformer themed around Bernie Sanders. Now, two dedicated Seinfeld fans who have been working on a Seinfeld adventure game project are seeking to have their bizarre creation become a full game.

Developer Jacob Janerka and animator Ivan Dixon recently updated the website for their Seinfeld adventure game project, and released a new YouTube video pitching the idea to the internet. The duo, who are big Seinfeld fans, believe that the classic point-and-click adventure genre fits the plot and visual template of a Seinfeld episode perfectly. The past few years, the duo have been known for their screenshots and animations that teased small glimpses of what they would want a Seinfeld point-and-click adventure game to look like, but now, they feel ready to take the full step into developing the game and making it official. However, there remains the small snag that is getting series creator Larry David and star Jerry Seinfeld to give their blessing and allow it to exist without incurring the wrath of their legal team.

The video shows that the game would allow players to control Jerry, Elaine or George, as they journey to familiar locations in brand new storylines. Janerka and Dixon hope that with the new pitch video and website updates, they can drum up enough vocal support on the internet to catch the attention of Seinfeld and David, in the hopes of signing off on this project. If by some miracle this happens, Janerka and Dixon would then intend to develop the game with a publisher, or fund it through Kickstarter. Hopefully enough Seinfans clamor for this game so that Larry and Jerry catch wind of it, and that they find it endearing enough that they don’t respond by shutting it down and saying “NO SOUP FOR YOU!”
