Gamer Beats Mass Effect: Andromeda’s Insanity Difficulty Without a Single Gun (VIDEO)
Since its release date last month, Mass Effect: Andromeda has received a significant amount of mixed criticism leveled against it, most of which is due to the occasional bug, or oft-times hilarious animation issues that occasionally pop up throughout the game. BioWare is always listening to player feedback, so rest assured, updates and fixes to the game’s current issues are coming. Despite the previously mentioned concerns, most fans of the game can agree that BioWare has taken a huge step forward in gameplay compared to the last few Mass Effect games.
With the new profile system that the Pathfinder is able to utilize, players are able to cater to their preferred play-style, or switch between profiles on the fly depending on the situation. Alongside the ability to respec skill points aboard the Tempest (for a price), the customizable gameplay possibilities are as endless as space itself. Take YouTuber BOYvsVIDEOGAME, for example. The gamer has recently beaten Mass Effect: Andromeda’s Insanity difficulty without firing a single shot.

So how does someone beat Mass Effect: Andromeda on the Insanity difficulty without using any weapons? According to the video above, it gets done with Biotics, melee attacks, lots of dodging, and a whole lot of profanity. The gameplay takes place in a Kett prison facility, on the planet Voeld. While BOYvsVIDEOGAME has an entire playlist of videos for his Biotic Charge-infused romp across the Heleus Cluster, this video in particular shows off a significant amount of combat, as it takes place during one of the main missions within the game. As such, there are spoilers, so please watch with caution.
The YouTuber definitely has his hands full against the Kett, especially with one hand figuratively tied behind his back. Thankfully, his squadmates don’t seem to have the same issue this Ryder does with using guns, so at least he can rely on them to help take down enemy shields before he charges in and delivers some much needed Biotic justice to some Kett faces. This is just one example of the many different ways players can utilize Mass Effect: Andromeda’s nuanced gameplay system to create their own rule set. It will be interesting to see what people come up with in the months and years to come.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
