Metro Exodus Reveals Terrifying New Trailer, “Artyom’s Nightmare” (VIDEO)

Metro Exodus

Visions are nothing new to the Metro franchise, with Artyom seeing plenty of them within Metro Last Light. It seems that these visions have appeared once more as a somber reminder of what once was for the iconic character. One could even go so far as to imagine that the visions are a dream of what Artyom hopes he can be once again. A new CGI short film created by Platige Image takes fans on a journey through Artyom’s hopes and fears as he continues his journey in Metro Exodus.

The film sees Artyom interacting with a young lad in an irradiated portion of the Metro and features another kid that appears to represent Artyom’s dreams of living on the surface. This sequence is contrasted by the Ranger himself who knows full well what kind of dangers await in the outside world. When the child opens a Russian Matryoshka, water can be seen rushing down into the Metro and sends Artyom on a sequence of terrifying encounters each ending with him finding the child again and witnessing him opening another doll.

In the end, Artyom is unable to save the child and all that remains is the Russian nesting doll lying on the ground. After placing the doll in its resting place, Artyom then heads through the Metro and opens the door the child tried to go through and heads out into the dangerous lands of the world outside the Metro. Like so many other visions Artyom has seen, this one is a cold reminder that the world above is an unforgiving place, filled with death and sorrow.

Metro Exodus is set to release on February 15th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Will Artyom and the Rangers find a place for the people of the Metro to live in peace?
