Star Wars Battlefront II December Calendar Released

General Kenobi Clone wars

EA DICE revealed the December Community Calendar for Star Wars Battlefront II. While a slower month than October and November, the game promises some exciting new content and events for players to try out.

Obi-Wan Kenobi joined Star Wars Battlefront II last week, and players immediately dubbed him one of the best heroes in the game. EA DICE is making sure that they keep their audience satisfied by releasing a new skin, the General Kenobi appearance. The new skin becomes available December 12.

“Complete the Obi-Wan Kenobi Clone Wars look with this appearance featuring the modified Clone trooper armor the legendary Jedi master often wore into battle, as seen in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.”

This marks the third skin for Kenobi, after his standard Jedi Master outfit and the Jedi Robes look. Fans still eagerly anticipate an Old Ben skin, but this will have to suffice for now. Frankly, it’s one of the best looks for any hero in the entire game, which will make their wait easier.

Speaking of waiting, EA DICE will not add any new heroes or villains to the title in December. Players must be patient until January (Count Dooku) and February (Anakin Skywalker) to see any more iconic faces join the fray. However, EA DICE is making sure that players stick with  Star Wars Battlefront II with three events this month. The first event runs from December 14 through 16, and it’s one we’ve seen before: Heroes Unleashed.

“Heroes are being unleashed in Galactic Assault once again. During this weekend event, heroes can be unlocked for 75% off their normal battle point cost, with up to 9 per side playing simultaneously.”

Heroes Unleashed creates absolute pandemonium on the battlefront as everyone rushes to get that all-important first hero. A number of players have condemned the event on the forums since nobody plays the Galactic Assault Objectives. Still, EA DICE wouldn’t have brought it back for a third consecutive month if it wasn’t immensely popular.

As soon as Heroes Unleashed ends, Star Wars Battlefront II starts its Life Day Event. If you don’t know what Life Day is, watch this video and recoil in horror. From December 17 to 27, players will receive extra experience on more special units. Unlike the Star Wars Christmas Special, this sort of occasion will always be welcome in my household.

“The Life Day Event features 25% off heroes, vehicles, and reinforcements in Galactic Assault plus 50% increase in XP earned in all game modes. Front end theme will change every few days of the event, focusing on a different location and era, with a heavy, random rotation of featured heroes.”

Lastly, a new event aims to turn the chaos of Heroes Unleashed up to 11. Power! Unlimited Power runs from December 28 to January 1 and promises even more fast-paced action.

“This new year brings a whole new meaning to the term “Unleashed.” All bets are off in Galactic Assault with 9 heroes available per side playing simultaneously, 75% off Battle Points for heroes, vehicles and reinforcements, and no spawn timer.”

If players complained about the mayhem of Heroes Unleashed, I can’t wait to hear what they say about Unlimited Power. There might be three regular classes on each side by the end of a match. If the chaos gets to be too much, players can always turn to my beloved Starfighter Assault.

As we close out 2018, I’m confident in saying that Star Wars Battlefront II has effectively turned the corner. This game has seen a massive increase in popularity by turning its attention to Clone Wars content. For example, more players have watched the Geonosis DLC trailer more than the most recent Battlefield V full launch trailer. Players have returned to the game in full force, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Star Wars Battlefront II is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You can read the full December Community Transmission right here.
