Netflix’s The Witcher Reveals First Look Of Henry Cavill As Geralt Of Rivia (VIDEO)
Ever since early September when it was revealed that Henry Cavill had been cast as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s upcoming TV adaptation of The Witcher, fans have been waiting for the moment when the former Man of Steel star steps out of the shadows in ‘full dress’ to see how he shapes up as ‘The Witcher.’ Thankfully, that wait is officially over, as Netflix has given us our first good look of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia.
The news comes by way of the streaming service’s official Twitter account, which posted a video this morning featuring the star himself slowly walking towards the camera before shooting off one of his steely gazes and taking a sip of something, likely hater’s tears. We’ve a YouTube version of the teaser video which can be seen below:

Fans of The Witcher games have already begun divvying themselves up in terms of ‘love it’ or ‘hate it,’ with the latter fans comparing Cavill’s Geralt as a Legolas clone, or a replica of Harry Potter’s Lucius Malfoy. The majority of these fans are also clamoring for Netflix to ‘CGI in’ some facial hair for the Justice League vet. It is important to note, however, that canonically Geralt hates his beard, and for the most part in the books he goes clean shaven, so Netflix is, at least in terms of Cavill’s looks, sticking to the books on this issue.
With the majority of the cast already having been revealed, it likely won’t be long until we receive more first looks at the rest of the stars of the show, namely Ciri, Yennefer, and Triss. Here’s hoping fans will think a bit before immediately condemning how they look.
